What is it about?
Otoplasty or ear surgery is a surgical technique to permanently embellish the ears in people with prominent ears or in patients where the ears are separated from the head.
Who are eligible?
This type of surgery is performed on a large number of cases, mostly in children between 8 and 14 years, although it is also performed in adults who have big ears or are dissatisfied with their type of ear.
Recovery is quick and rarely any discomfort occurs, which means that patients return to everyday life and work in a couple to three days after surgery. Dressings are removed in 24 to 48 hours. Bruises will naturally disappear in about 4 days or with the application of any medical treatment.
